[R-sig-Geo] grid interpolation with readGDAL

Hello,

I was wondering if anybody knew which method/algorithm readGDAL uses for interpolating a grid when the 'output.dim' parameter doesn't match 'region.dim' (ie, when the resolution requested doesn't match the one being read). readGDAL's documentation only says this uses "GDAL's method to take care of image decimation / replication".
