[R-sig-Geo] Multiple polygons in kml with non-zero altitude

Dear list members,
I have been trying to export a KML file from R with some variables containing information referring to censal sections in the city of Madrid. I am interested in representing polygons which base would be the coordinates of the corresponding censal section and which altitude would be the value of a variable of interest. My question is if an object class representing polygons with altitude exists, as the classes present in the "sp" package (the ones I know) only allow for bidimensional polygons.
I would also thank a hint in which function I should use to export the polygons into a KML file. I have tried to use "kmlPolygon" in the "maptools" package, but I would like to represent several polygons on the same layer.
Thanks a lot,
Jesús Alberto Alonso Nanclares
