[R-sig-Geo] writeGDAL: pseudocolor image?

You are right, I've download it and gdalinfo indicates a jpeg. It's
weird because the file I upload is a real tif, could it be that it
gets automatically modified?
Anyway, I attach the tif to another message for you.

The original file is jpeg. Then I  use imageJ to change it to "8 bit
color" (this is just to have an example of the raster I want to
create), and save it as tiff. According to gdal, it's a tiff file
(see the output of gdalinfo in my first message).
