well, ?gstat, used to create the object to be passed on to
predict.gstat, has these. Did you use them?

A reproducable example, maybe with fake data, would be helpful -- I have
a similar linux box here. Ah, and just to make sure:

uname -a

on your box indicates x86_64 as architecture, not i686, right?
