[R-sig-Geo] zoom for edit.nb

I might contribute something in the future, but I am new to R, so
what I do is pretty clunky. I wrote a simple program last night
that does distant weighted lest squares estimation of spatial trend
(using kernel smoother) - described in Haining's 2003 text, p. 231.
Not ready for prime time. It is not a function and it uses a full
weight matrix, so it is very slow. Perhaps this is already
available? Seem like a handy tool, especially for looking for
preliminary evidence of trend in noisey data (i.e. residuals from a
regression). It may be something that can already be accomplished
using a generic locally weighted regression function.
