Welcome to programming, and debugging. In your list processing, fundamentally
processing of each symbol is still one distinct call. You can either modify
your copy of the data getter (hey, it is open source ...) or wrap its use in
another helper function that ensures the correct / expected data format is
passed along. Such post-processing is very common when dealing with open or
free APIs such as this one ... which after all is non-official. There is even
a (half-joking ?) theorem for this. [1]
