since Jeff wasn't able to reproduce the error, according to the earlier post,
I can only guess (and that won't help you). It may just have to do with the
fact that you are running R on Windows.... (mingw32). When it comes to R,
things work best on Linux, and they *mostly* work on Windows. (my
experience)
