Google Summer of code, please join the gsoc-r Google group.

Claudia Beleites sent this to the GSOC-R group earlier today, but I 
suspect that not everyone who might want to participate has joined there 
yet.

Dear students,

this evening the student application will open. So please get your first 
version of the proposal ready.

You'll be able to edit the uploaded proposals after uploading and we
mentors will comment on your proposals in order to improve them. The
final proposal will be the outcome of several iterations between student 
proposal and mentor comments/questions.

It is important that you start immediately getting your proposal online
as we'll need the time to arrive at good project plans.
