This course offers a hands-on introduction to functional trait space analyses, combining theory with practical sessions in R. Participants will learn how to:

Build and interpret functional trait spaces

Apply PCA, kernel density methods, and key R packages (e.g. smatr, TPD, funspace)

Link trait spaces to ecological dimensions and visualize results
It’s ideal for PhD students, postdocs, and researchers working with functional traits, functional diversity, or trait-based ecology. Basic R knowledge is recommended.
