[R-sig-eco] Another adonis model specification question.

Hi R-sig-ecology.

Writing with another adonis (vegan) model specification question.

I have 10 regions (REGION) where I collected biological samples. Within
each region, I established 10 sites (SITE). At each site, I collected 3
samples each using a different method (METHOD). I'd like to test if each of
the three sampling methods recovers the same biological community.

Since there is no replication within sites for the different sampling
methods, I think that I will have to do this within regions grouping site
level data by sampling method.

I have come up with the model formulas below, but could use advice on the
appropriate specification.

DISTANCES ~ METHOD with strata = REGION
DISTANCES ~ REGION + METHOD with strata = REGION

Should nesting be specified? Should SITE be included somehow?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Brian
