[R-sig-eco] PCA–GAM

Dear all,

In the GAM process on my data i have problem,  the maximum fit on data
is R-sq.(adj)
=  0.483   Deviance explained = 57.1% whereas i check it in different
smooth methods . the data are include the fish catch and environmental
variables,
Could you please help to find the best analyse method such as PCA-GAM.
