Hi Justine,
Which formula are you talking about? I have scripted many hydraulic algorithms and am familiar with your issue although I used other ADCP softwares. The data looks all right to me. Please do specify more in detail what your challenge is in order to report this data. So far, I've only gathered that you would like to plot time series of current magnitude and direction in function of the ensembles number.
Best regards,

Onderwerp: [R-sig-eco] Feather plots for oceanic currents
Hello,
I am trying to produce a feather plot using data from oceanic currents (direction and magnitude), but I do not understand the formula. To retrieve the data I used the program VmDas for the ADCP, and the output consists of thousands of "ensembles" which are about 5 second intervals. Time is divided into 3 separate columns in the data. Below I have attached a sample of the data:
Ens HH MM SS HH.1 Dep Mag Dir
1 5577 10:40:02 40 2 0 4.9 359 171.0
2 5578 19:40:06 40 6 67 4.9 201 158.0
3 5579 19:40:11 40 11 55 4.9 277 20.5
4 5580 19:40:18 40 18 5 4.9 337 41.3
5 5581 19:40:24 40 24 34 4.9 235 20.4
6 5582 19:40:30 40 30 84 4.9 246 191.5
Thank you for your help!
