[R-sig-Debian] problem with update.packages

Just built hardy amd64 packages, and I do not receive this error message 
and was able to update packages with no issues.  It was R version 2.8.0 
RC (2008-10-12 r46696).  Not sure what I have done differently, just 
used the same scripts we have been using to build ubuntu packages.
