and I guess, using the excellent and "official" Rtools for
Windows (by Tomas Kalibera), and there a version of
	R CMD check <pkg>
may have helped to save  a lot of time (over using  devtools and all the extra
mumbo jumbo it carries along, but of course that is heretic to say,
... and you need _not_ tell me so ;-).
