[R-pkg-devel] visible binding for '<<-' assignment

Store the cached data in an environment within the package:

pali_data <- new.env(parent = emptyenv())

pali_string_fix <- function() {
  pali_data$alphabet <-
     stringi::stri_unescape_unicode(pali_alphabet)
...
}
