I think that you are mixing lattice and base graphics.  This works  
for me:

library(lattice)
x<-rnorm(100)
densityplot(x, panel =
				function(x, ...) {
					panel.densityplot(x, ...)
					panel.abline(v = 0, ...)
                   }
                   )
