<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have used S-Plus for Windows for some time and 

have a large collection of personal programs. I have recently installed R-1.1.1 

under Linux. I can read the .ssc files from S-Plus into emacs and save to R, but 

this is apt to be tedious. Any shortcuts to recommend? Will linux R read the 

_Data files from Windows S-Plus? Would Windows R serve as a useful intermediate
