[R] Does this exist: diff(range(VAR, na.rm=T))

Why not include a function resembling this:

   span <- function(x) {
      diff(range(x, na.rm=TRUE))
   }

in your .Rprofile?  It's simple, quick, and easier to type than diff(...) .
