[R] get the value of a biplane

Hello,
Can anyone explain why this error?
> library(splines)

Error in predict.bs(SCurve, xnew = 40:45) :
could not find function "predict.bs"
Note that splines:::predict.bs(SCurve, xnew = 40:45) works.
