[R] can I calculate Standard deviation or variance?

Dear Kristi

You will doubtless soon receive a reply telling you this is a 
statistical question and off-topic here but in the meantime, do you have 
any other information like a value of a test statistic or a p-value? 
Sometimes they can be used.
