Thanks for your response.  In regards to my STATA code it would be:

xi:xtiverg wecon polrightsreversed lnrgdpch execleft mulim2 c100rat 
c1100rat i.year
(trade fdistockgdp = lnpop lnarea devcountrycomlanguage bitcum), re.
