[R] Failed to install kernlab package

posting to  R-devel, and we cannot help you without the actual error 
message.

Really?  Who are these 'many others'?  The CRAN check page 
http://cran.r-project.org/web/checks/check_results_kernlab.html shows 
success on several platforms.
