either change
subset (nhis, xsmoke=='Never SMK')
to
subset (nhis, xsmoke=='Never Smk')

or change
labels=c('Current SMK','Former SMK', 'Never Smk')
to
labels=c('Current SMK','Former SMK', 'Never SMK')

but not both  :)
