[R] passing arguments via "..."

It's easier that you think;

Fancyhist <- function(x, break=NULL, ...) {
  # first, process x into xprocess somehow, then ...

  if (is.null(breaks)) {
    # define the histogram breaks somehow, then call hist:
  }

  hist(xprocess, break=breaks, ...)
}
