I get a strange error in R:

 *** caught segfault ***
address 0x6951c20, cause 'memory not mapped'

Possible actions:
1: abort (with core dump, if enabled)
2: normal R exit
3: exit R without saving workspace
4: exit R saving workspace



It seems as whether the error occurs when I try to perform a spline interpolation of a smooth function. Can anybody give me some hints on where to dig for a solution?
