[R] Sweave problem on Mac OS when using umlauts and summary()

This problem comes up so frequently that I have made
options(useFancyQuotes=FALSE) by default in my knitr package:
http://yihui.github.com/knitr/

You can also use options(useFancyQuotes='TeX').
