(?interactive), e.g. in the GUI:

2. ?winDialog   ?file.choose  ?choose.files  ?select.list  ?readline
and friends
 and for keyboard: ?getGraphicsEvent

Sounds like you want devAskNewPage(TRUE) or the related 
options("device.ask.default").  See help("devAskNewPage", 
package="grDevices").
