This does work if you use plot() directly:
efaApp <- function(data, ...)
{
playwith (plot(data[,1:2]),
click.mode = "Brush",
)
}

My guess is that by passing through a custom function you generate
output that playwith does not understand. One way to work around is:
myplot <- function(x, ...) {
plot(x)
}
Allowing for other options seems to make playwith happier.
