[R] .libPaths(new) stopped working in 2.10

It works fine for me, both from the GUI and from the command line  
startup:

 > .libPaths()
[1] "/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources/library"
 > .libPaths(new="/Users/rturner/Rlib")
 > .libPaths()
[1] "/Users/rturner/Rlib"
[2] "/Library/Frameworks/R.framework/Resources/library"


 > sessionInfo()
R version 2.10.0 (2009-10-26)
i386-apple-darwin8.11.1

locale:
[1] C

attached base packages:
[1] datasets  utils     stats     graphics  grDevices methods   base

other attached packages:
