Not stupid -- but -- wouldn't a binomial model
glm(cbind(ill,total-ill) ~ 1, family=binomial)
make more sense?
Read ?predict.glm carefully to determine whether you
are predicting responses on the linear predictor (=log-odds)
scale or the original scale
