Sorry for the noise.  ***After*** sending off my previous post,
I spotted the loony myself.  The line

for(k=0; k<vny; k++) {

should be

for(k=0; k<vmy; k++) {

That's m for Mike not n for November.  Sigh.  Staring me in the face  
all the time.
