[R] Preparing high quality figures with tiff as end result

One bit you didn't tell us was that the journal asks for 600dpi TIFF
files, but you also forgot to tell R that.
Try bitmap(type="tifflzw", res=600) -- you probably will not need
anti-aliasing.
