[R] help.start() on linux (fedora 8) when firefox alreading running - a way to open a new tab?

In the Firefox menus go to:

    Edit -> Preferences -> Tabs

On that page, under "New pages should be opened in:"

Select 'a new tab'

If you are getting a new instance of Firefox, you likely have 'a new 
window' selected rather than 'a new tab'.

The above works in FF version 2 and 3 beta on F8.
