[R] Converting zoo dates to ts dates

Hi R Gurus

I'm using get.hist.quote to obtain monthly historical data.

This results in a zoo series.

I would like to convert the zoo series to a time series within a
function.  How do I get the starting date for the ts from the zoo
series, please?
