Can't think of anything simpler than changing the order of the levels:
> foo = data.frame(a = gl(10, 1), x = sort(runif(10)))
> dotplot(a ~ x, foo)
> dotplot(factor(a, levels = rev(levels(a))) ~ x, foo)
