This looks fine:
> setClass("testCall", representation = representation(call = "call"))
[1] "testCall"
> test <- new("testCall")

An object of class "testCall"
Slot "call":
`<undef>`()
Although, I found a bug while playing around:
cl <- call("round", 10.5)
cl[] <- NULL
cl
