[R] How does the r-distribution function work

Hi, I have a problem..... how can I solve a problem without t.test????

for example:
x<-c(1,2,3,4,5,6)
y<-c(7,8,9)
t.test(x,y,alternative="less",paired=FALSE,var.equal=TRUE,con.level=0.95)
