RSiteSearch("error bars", restrict="function") points to several
packages that will plot errors bars or confidence intervals only from
the summary information. For example:
library(sfsmisc)
mymeans <- rnorm(10)
myerrors <- 1 + .1*rnorm(10)
errbar(1:10, mymeans, mymeans + myerrors, mymeans - myerrors,
main="Error Bars example")
