[R] Installation Help

You have an incompatible libz.a in /usr/local/lib64, without the 
corresponding libz.so.  That is *not* the default on any 'linux machine' I 
have ever seen.  Please remove it, and make sure you have the system 
shared libz installed.

Also, why are you installing the obsolete R-2.4.0?
