[R] Trying to install rjags on Mac OS X 10.5

I had the same issue on my Mac. After install pkg-config from MacPorts
Martyn suggested to add the following 2 lines to my .bashrc file:
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/local/lib"
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig"
Everything worked after that.
