[R] Problem installing packages

  $ sudo apt-get install r-base-dev r-cran-tseries.
  
Try that.

Not so fast. Vincent works hard to provide good backports. It may
merely be incomplete.

Also consider subscribing to r-sig-debian list for Debian/Ubuntu
questions.
