[R] Changes in console preferences won't take

I would guess you've got conflicting settings in multiple Rconsole 
files, or you're saving the change to the wrong place. See the ?Rconsole 
man page for a description of how R looks for the file (and the example 
section of it to see what would normally be loaded on your own system).
