[R] a little help needed plotting chron object

I am surprised its not easier but this seems to give something
though the result is not beautiful:
plot(tv,yjunk,pch=yjl, xaxt = "n")
s <- seq(0, 1, .2)
axis(1, s, substr(chron(seq(0, 1, .2)), 11, 15))
