[R] compile R on Solaris 9

I had the same failure on both a Solaris 2.8 system and a 2.9 system
on Monday, but did not report it right away as I had not yet searched
R-admin and other documentation for relevant information.
The configure flag --disable-largefile resulted in a successful
make on the 2.8 system.
On the 2.9 system connections.c succeeded, but make then failed later on.
That being a separate problem, I'll ask for help in a separate message, later.
This is with Version 2.3.0 Patched (2006-04-29 r37946)
