Jan,
matplot() won't work well here, because you do not have common x axis
values across the three sets of data. Thus, you need to use plot() and
then lines().
Try this:
# First set up your data
test.five.x <- c(0.02,0.05,0.07,0.09,0.10,0.12,
0.13,0.14,0.16,0.17,0.20,0.21,
0.34,0.40)
test.five.y <- c(18,12,17,12,3,15,1,5,1,1,3,10,
15,10)
test.six.x <- c(0.03,0.05,0.07,0.08,0.09,0.10,
0.12,0.13,0.14,0.15,0.17,0.18,
0.21,0.22,0.24,0.33,0.39,0.43)

test.seven.x <- c(0.04,0.05,0.08,0.09,0.10,0.12,
