[R] loading error of the Rcmdr library on Debian Sid [SOLVED]

That sounds like the result of having a too-old nvidia-common and
booting between 2.4 and 2.6 kernels.
I believe that nvidia until 2.6 likes the TLS libs, under 2.4 doesn't.
