[R] How to do this "combination" ?

Try:
> m <- as.matrix(expand.grid(1:2, 1:2, 1:2))
> x <- m[,1] * 100 + m[,2] * 10 + m[,3]
> x
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
111 211 121 221 112 212 122 222
Note that if the `source vector' is not 1:k for some integer k, you need to
coerce the output of expand.grid, as that returns a data frame of factors.
