[R] Errors during make check

Thank you for your help. I'm really stumped on this one.
Here is some information from the end of the configuration step...
R is now configured for sparc-sun-solaris2.9
Source directory: .
Installation directory: /usr/local
C compiler: gcc -g -O2
C++ compiler: g++ -g -O2
Fortran compiler: f77 -g
Interfaces supported: X11, tcltk
External libraries:
Additional capabilities: PNG, JPEG
Options enabled: R profiling
Recommended packages: yes
The ...Ex.Rout.fail file contains:
