Hi Alexander,
you could try:
my.string <- "A==1 & B==2"
(my.frame <- data.frame(A=sample(1:2, 20, TRUE), B=sample(1:2, 20,
TRUE)))
subset(my.frame, eval(parse(text=my.string)))
