[R] How to generate a report with graphics and tables?

Depending on how much post-processing you do in 
Powerpoint, you might try importing the chart 
using a "link".

Have R save the chart in a file. Then go into 
Powerpoint, use the Insert Picture from File menu 
item, and in the dialog box that comes up select 
"Link to File".
